Our MD Phil Green’s 25 year anniversary at CBS was in December 2013 and to commemorate the occasion the company organised for him to go on a trip on the Orient Express. Phil is a huge fan of the golden age of steam and the nostalgia that goes with it, so it was the perfect gift.
The Orient Express is made up of fully restored 1920s Pullman coaches pulled by Merchant Navy locomotive “Clan Line” and is a chance to experience the elegance and romance of this bygone age.
Phil and his wife Deb took the trip on Saturday 26th July and anyone who knows Phil will recognise how lucky he is with the weather every time he takes a trip and Saturday was no exception – it was glorious!
The four hour trip started and finished at London Victoria and the couple enjoyed a sumptuous 6 course meal in the silver service dining car as the train wound its way through the countryside of Surrey.
Phil bought a lovely memento of the day – a station clock in walnut which takes pride of place on the workwall in his office.
He said “The total experience was absolutely unbelievable. This is a once in a lifetime trip. Awesome!”
